I Have Been Bad

I said I would make a post every week on this blog but have failed!  Unfortunately I was struggling with money for a bit and had to get a day job again which led to almost 3 weeks straight of no days off due to school and work!  So when I wasn’t working or at school I was either getting an afternoon ski in or doing homework!

However when this 3 weeks was over I had some days off and got some photo and video work in!

What I Got From Taking Time Off Of Instagram

In February I decided to take a break from Instagram as it was not adding the value it once was.  I took the month off and believe that I have gained some insight into Instagram from my absence.

  1. No One Cares.  Most people could care less that I wasn’t on instagram.  This made me think that it really doesn’t matter when I post and not to care too much myself and put the pressure on myself to constantly be posting!
  2. People follow to get followed back… Well I was off of Instagram I got a bunch of follows from random people and then was unfollowed after not having followed them back.
  3. Life is just better without Instagram.  Things are a lot simpler when you are not worrying about getting your post out on time.
  4. I didn’t miss Instagram.

 

 

Sleep Smarter

Sleep Deprivation, have you heard of it?  One third of americans get less than 7 hours of sleep a night which means you are possibly sleep deprived.  There are many things that lead to this.  There are many factors to lack of sleep or being deprived of sleep.  Screen time, lack of sunlight, and diet are only some of the things affecting your sleep.  In Shawn Stevenson’s latest book Sleep Smarter, talks on these issues as well as all the others.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with their sleep and wanting to change that.

I have already begun to implement some of the screen time recommendations in the book and I have been getting exponentially better sleep!  Not only did I learn about better sleep tactics but I also learnt about facts to a better diet and overall improvement in health.
